Growing up here in Seattle, I was a big fan of beach fires. Beach fires during our high school days were a fixture. When vacationing on the Oregon Coast, it was always amazing to see scores of beach fires on any given night. I might be in the minority, but I think there is something special about outdoor fires.
Given my perchant for outdoor fires, I was glad to come upon a really elegant and superbly made outdoor fire pit, and I am suggesting it as the fourth item on my top ten Made in America holiday gifts for 2011.
Grate Wall of Fire makes two types of outdoor fire pits. Both look great but I think the short fire pit is more visually pleasing.
The short fire pit weighs about 67 lbs. The short fire pit is 21″ tall, with a 23″ diameter at the top. The short fire pit is constructed of 3/4 inch steel at Grate Wall of Fire’s facility in Connecticut. Grate Wall of Fire is the creation of Jared and Micah Richards, brothers with a passion for everything to do with fires and fireplaces. In addition to their fire pits, the Richards also make sturdy and stylish fireplace grates that have gotten plenty of rave reviews.
Just think. Its Christmas day night. You break out the Grate Wall of Fire short fire pit and set it up in the backyard under a full moon. You and the family bundle up and sing carols under the stars accompanied by that unique sound of crackling firewood. Kinda tears me up! How about you?
