Recently, I came across a piece written by Tim Worstall, a regular contributor at Forbes, about Apple. I left a comment on that article and asked Tim to check out my post, Comparing Apples to Apples, that I wrote regarding the possibility of Apple making iPads in the U.S. On Sunday morning I got an email from Tim telling me he had read my post Comparing Apples to Apples and had responded to it. He included a link in the email which sent me to his article in Forbes that subjected my post to his expert analysis.
A couple of thoughts on Tim’s article on my post. First, while Tim disagreed with a lot of what I wrote in my post, he was incredibly gracious and kind in finding fault with my analysis. Most criticism on the internet is amazingly mean-spirited and sarcastic, so Tim’s good manners in criticizing my post were really appreciated. It was like being slapped with a few strings of yarn, rather than a gloved hand. Second, I was really exciting to see my ideas being analyzed in an article on the website of one of the mainstream business magazines in circulation in this country. I am researching each of Tim’s critiques of my post and will provide a response to his article later this week.
