Cleanliness is next to godliness!

It sounds strange, but I like vacuuming.

I have a ritual when it is time to use the vacuum:

  1. Check the bag,
  2. Turn on loud music,
  3. Don’t stop until the dust bunnies are vanquished.

My friend Karen Freeman alerted me to an American vacuum that I plan on purchasing when my current vacuum gives up the ghost: Riccar

Riccar makes upright, canister, eight-pound, and central vacuums.

Riccar vacuums are made at their manufacturing facility in St. James, Missouri.  In business for over 55 years, Riccar vacuums are sold through vacuum stores rather than at big box stores.  Riccar vacuums will keep your house clean and will brighten your day because you will know that your purchase of a Riccar vacuum helped provide employment for a member of our extended American family.  Now if only I could get my son Ben interested in vacuuming.  It’s important to pass on family traditions, even if they are a bit embarrassing!

About Simply American LLC

I live in Seattle and love telling stories about Americans, the places where they work and the things that they make. I have just published a book, Simply American, encouraging Americans to purchase American made products; the book can be ordered at

Nice catch Andy. I didn’t see that vacuum. I wonder if they do any specific marketing for that type of vacuum regarding people who live near the beach? Anyway, thanks for commenting and don’t forget to enter my Wigwam sock giveaway. Just click on the Giveway page tab at the top of the page and follow the directions for entering. All the best, John
