And the winner is….

Americans want to buy consumer goods made by members of our extended America family but think that such goods are no longer made in this country.

I have been trying to do my part to disabuse people of this myth by featuring all sorts of wonderful consumer goods made in the country.

But I am only one fella, and I have a day job!

Luckily, there are a lot of wonderful websites that Americans can visit to find the American made products they want.  After looking at loads of them, it is my opinion that the finest Made in the US website is….

The site is encyclopedic and extremely easy to use.  If you have a good idea of what product you want to buy, you can get at it in one of two ways.  First, there is an alphabet on the home page and you can just click on the first letter of the product you want.  Second, there are about 150 product types listed on the home page that you can check out if that method is easier for you to use.

As an example, if you click on Jackets Made in the USA, you will be presented with 12 companies making jackets, including King Louie and Schott, two firms I have done posts on.  Want a pair of shoes made by members of our extended American family?  You will find over 40 firms to choose from, including my favorite Allen Edmonds.

I think the website is the best “Made in the USA” website there is on the internet.  But if you want to check out other similar websites, I have the link for you.  My friend, Jack A, has a wonderful blog titled clothingmadeinusablog.  If you want to know anything about American made clothing, Jack’s blog is the site to visit.  But Jack also likes assembling lists and he has assembled a list that contains over a hundred “Made in the USA” websites.  Jack’s devotion to helping Americans find the American made products they want is remarkable.  Thanks a lot Jack!
